Happy Canada Day, everyone. Regardless of where you live. This is Greg, a seasonal neighbour of mine, and a resident of western New York State for most of the year. If he appears proud and happy, you can see why. This Bass weighed in at just under 8 lbs, which is a record for this part of the country.Greg's a big guy, and he's not holding it out at arms length to make it appear larger.I suppose this could be considered a snapshot, but thought it might be of interest to fellow anglers.

Wow , Doug that's one good size fish.
I don't consider this a snap shot it's a good shot of an awesome catch.
I like the treatment you used on this and I like the net.
If we only posted wall hangers how boring would Caedes be.
Great photo and post !

If most anybody else on Caedes had posted a similar shot, I would have considered it to be an interesting snapshot of a guy holding a large fish. However, I'm not sure how you achieved the "look" of this shot, but that fish nearly jumps off the screen. I'm not wearing the 3D glasses that I got when I saw the film "Avatar", but the fish and his hands are in my face while his face appears to be a little further back. The lake and distant foliage looks like it's in another county. I know you did some post photo work because there's the slightest haloing around his ear (his right, my left), but I'd love to know how you achieved such depth on a simple "snapshot".

The sheen on Charlie there is Incredible!! Perhaps one of the Finest candid Portraits I've ever had the Pleasure to Behold, actually... though, I must disagree with Roger on that 'Haloing'... as I believe that Might be the Way the light Caught the Peach fuzz on Gregg's ear... But, what do I know, anyways? Great shooting, Doug!

That's a mighty big fish you friend has on his hands. Good clarity and details in the photo, Doug. A nice DoF that makes the subject stand out in the photo.

I don't really consider this just a snapshot, as your post work is done so well. What a great catch, we don't see them that big around here either, I would say 6 and under usually. =^..^=tigs
