If you've never seen the movie " Arrow " it's well worth seeing if you can find it. This is the man who scrapped the fastest fighter plane in the world. It had Mach 3 capability when no other country was much above Mach 1. It could climb to the edge of space, and another version was already in planning for launching Satellites from the aircraft. There were only seven finished Arrows at the time of the decision, and when he ordered the complete scrapping of all the aircraft and everything connected to it. When word got out, every major aircraft manufacturer in the United States had representatives on the floor of Avro Aircraft, offering positions in the States with all kinds of benefits. My uncle Gerry was among the many hundreds who accepted offers. He had three young boys who were all provided with a Free education at Stanford University in California when they became of age. Many other Avro employees ended up in NASA, Boeing, and various other aircraft industries. The image is of John Diefenbaker. Not a bad Prime Minister, but one who placed too much trust in a major advisor. Only had time for one still shot on this assignment, as I was filming TV news. He was answering other reporters, and I never noticed the eyes blink. The black sky is the only manipulation and I thought, appropriate under the circumstances.

I don't remember that story, but then I was rather young, and probably did not pay too much attention to things like that at the time. I think the sky manipulation was the perfect choice for this one Doug. There is a show called Arrow but I have not watched it, and don't know if it follows anything from this event.

I am afraid that this post is somewhat too topical for me to understand fully without digging a little on the net for some more info...
The portrait looks cool, but as far as I understand, you disapprove of the fellow, don't you?
