A soviet mother mourning for her son. Picture taken in Berlin at sunset, where this kind of atavism shows up inexpectedly at every corner. Certainly not for everyone, but for those who are looking for the unexpected.

Like how you've used the angle to silhouette the figures. Creates a very emphatic contrast against the sky. Would have liked a bit more detail though. Good effort.

The snow on the body adds a strange and sad feeling. Good composition.
The mother against the light doesn't show us the details of the sulpture. A pity! :-)

Great focus used here for this picture. Good clear image and have to agree with ppigeon about the snow adding a different feeling. Nicely done here.

I like it, the statue looks noble a bit dark too, so you can't see the details. Well captured the quality is good. And you can see some sunlight on those trees, gives a bit bloody impression.. or it's just my imagination.

I like it. It seems so lonely, but then again, the sky cheers it up a bit. I like it.

I feel like I am fading. I've lost the Holy Ground. Maybe there's a chance, that the lost will be found.

In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10
