as the seagulls love to eat the little critters that make and live in shells like this, it's rare to find one as big as this that hasn't been broken...

Bea Hopkins, the famous pastel artist, did a series of sea shells which replicate what you have captured here. With the sun at just the right angel, you've caught the golden reflection on one side of the shell, the lavender blue shadows on the other. Wonderful work!
