If I am right, it appears that the "track" maker was walking right to left. The shadows are going left to right. Thus, a metaphor for the difficult decisions ahead.
Mary - You have composed an outstanding photo. Simple in design, yet much to see and contemplate. The variety of textures in the sand from the prints, swept ridge to rippled effects, and even the small imprints left by shelled animals are wonderful. Superb work! Thad
Lil' bit of Chromatic Aberration (blue/green tinge) on the righthand post. The Lens Correction filters in image editing programs/software work well enough to remove this.
I'm not sure if this is relevant or not, in terms of adjustments prior to post processing or editing, howver, forging ahead ... some words from Paul Gerritsen regarding CA;
"When you use f36 you cannot obtain a sharp image anymore. That is due to chromatic aberration. In optics, chromatic aberration is caused by a lens having a different refractive index for different wavelengths of light (the dispersion of the lens).
I don't want to go in details here, but simply said there is a minimum aperature above which a higher f number will not improve you sharpnes anymore. That number is about f11. Maybe you want to experiment with your lens to see were you get the best results."
'Artistic' is more than an apt descriptor for your photo here. Gushing a tad ... believe you have transcended the medium with this one.
Thanks for sharing your talents with us, Mary. This viewer appreciates your gifts of time and art. :o)
"There is always something waiting at the end of the road ... if you're not willing to see what it is ... you probably shouldn't be out there in the first place."
All of earth is crammed with heaven And every bush aflame with God But only those who see take off their shoes. - Elizabeth Barrett Browning<p>

Simplicity in nature so often brings about the most awesome designs. And your photo has shown that completely. THe ripples in the sand, so soft and inviting.And the many types of shadows are just awesome. I love the fence, there is always something so alluring about old wooden fences. Mary, this is truly lovely, and you love what I love..the sea and anything that has to do with it. I hope you are feeling a bit bette. I'm sorry I hadn;t seen this photo before this. But I love it very much. Thank you, and know you are in my daily thoughts and prayers. Verena
