This is the beginning of the Berlin Airlift Memorial in Frankfurt Germany (Rhein-Main Air Base). The other half of this memorial is in Berlin. Airlift carried over two million tons of supplies in 270,000 flights during the 11 month Soviet blockade of Berlin.
