The background in this is really lovely. I'd like to see that on its own, in fact. I think the jewel/orb could work well here but I'm not sure it quite works as it is. The main part of the orb - with the darker blues/greens mirroring the lighter shades of the background - is excellent, but I'm less sure about the additions of the shine and the little white element at the centre. I have problems with shines myself so I'm not sure how much help it is to just raise a possible problem, but maybe it will help a little. I think I would just get rid of the central white element, but if it is intended to play a specific role in the image, you might want to think about how it is supposed to do that. I'm not so sure about this, though. It might be that this would work fine if the shine was adjusted somehow. It certainly adds a certain interest - the heart of winter, perhaps?

In any case, this is very good as it stands and has the potential to be even better.
