I'm leaving town. I've seen it all. My daughter said 'look at that squirrel chewing a stick'. On closer inspection, it is a chicken bone from the nearby smokehouse inside Busch Gardens. I always knew they were rabies carrying rats with fuzzy tails, but this one takes the cake. Time to create a new fright movie: attack of the carnivorous squirrels. Maybe he is just sharpening his teeth...

Great pic, another nice squirell. What's his name? It has to be Keifer...I'm pretty sure he is carnivorous. Nic work.

Adorable, and squirrels very seldom have rabies. In fact, IIRC, no case of it has ever been documented in the wild. (In labs, it's a different matter, as any warm-blooded species can get it.)

Good, clear, well-composed shot!

Great shot and pretty amazing to see it munching on a bone! I guess city animals adapt to just about anything including KFC!

Very clear shot! You can even see the tree is "well-traveled"by squirrels ! That is interesting - I put out chicken bones for my crows and I have seen the squirrels sniff them and back away quickly! Maybe this was a very hngry one or just liked chewing on it. And by the way, thanks, Anastasia - you are correct about the rabies thing! I have that argument with people all the time...

Sounds like discrimination to me. You can enjoy buffalo wings, but he can't? Just because he's cute and furry. Where's the ACLU when you need them? ;)

Actually, most rodents will nibble on bones/antlers in the wild as it provides them with calcium. He's probably getting some protien here as well.
