The clouds were broken up in an interesting pattern due to the souther california fires. This pictures was taken with the night setting and a not so good camera lol.

Even if it is blurry, it is rather interesting. I've never seen a shot like this.

I've got a couple like this, only taken by moonlight, and I had the same problem you've got, an interesting pattern effect but an overall frustrating picture. It's always a pain when we fail to capture with our camera what we saw with our eye. Worth trying though.

Do I need to look in a mirror to see myself?
For not so good a camera this is a good picture! It's a little fuzzy fuzzy and out of focus but the concept is great....the pattern is lovely (not because it's partial smoke....so sad to see southern CA on fire) but because it has a great mood to it....it's very mysterious!
