This is a little house I made today for my photography work. I'm studying childerns stories and I've chosen snow white. I think the DoF works quite well with the macro and the colours make the photo look warm. The place looks loved and like a place that I'd enjoy living in, even if the carpet is made of newspaper and the whole thing is about a foot tall. Nevermind! Hope you like it! Ste :¬)

Very interesting concept, Stephen. Now, I know that the chair normally holds flower pots, but in this picture, it looks like it has been put into the land of the giants. The leaves, the newspaper, the bricks are all so much larger presenting a unique and wonderful effect. Very good composition.

I wholeheartedly agree with casechaser's comments.

A very intriguing image to my mind's eye.

And this may be the power of suggestion at work, however ... I came across a suggestion on another image and believe it is applicable to your photo here.

Offered up as some food for thought for you in terms of composition. And it is this ... turning the chair more inward. Just a tad more so.

I believe the thinking is that it would create a more 'inviting' visual ... literally.

Indeed the colours are warm, and the DOF is good.

Caveats?

Was a little undecided on the focus. Not so much the DOF, I don't believe ... but I am curious if you purposely did not centralize your focus on the chair (my perception of course).

The rock to the left seems to be sharp and clear, the chair is just a little less in focus. Perhaps you needed to go a bit deeper or shift your focus? Thinking ... er, typing out loud here.

Or ... an artistic call on your part? Just curious.

Allll of my drivel aside ... great natural colour and saturation. Well balanced composition ... very intriguing shot.

Well done. I do like it and thank you for sharing your efforts. :o)

I also like the concept and like the comments from the others. My two cents are... the colors could be warmer, like from one of two rays of sunlight. Can you use some reflectors to aim some sun on the leaves or grass?

That's my two cents, now I'm broke.
