This was taken after diving to the highest spot on Maui, Hawaii, which was 10,023 feet above sea level. Although it may be hard to believe, the temperature up there is near 40; very, very cold up there. The drive up requires you move though the cloud layer, which seems as if you are driving though Scottish, rocky mountain roads. The sun was setting as we drove down, and we stopped about 50 above the clouds. Not your typical vision of Hawaii.

Hi there. This is a very enchanting capture. Its almost looks like a place from a fantcy movie like Lord of the rings or Harry potter. The real beauty is in the sun light which create vivid colors on the clouds.

This looks amazing! And to think I could have "settled" for a picture like this instead of getting up at 2am. x.x I don't recommend it! You certainly captured the beauty of the moment above the clouds. It looks like you have a dead pixel on your camera's CCD or something because there is a white speck about a third of the way from the right in the middle of the photo. Nothing a bit of manipulation couldn't fix, though. Thanks for your comment on Sunrise Above the Clouds... and thanks for sharing this one with me. :)

The white speck mentioned is nothing less than the Aliens! ... Just kidding, its another car driving up the road down below my location. Took me a long time to realize that fact.
