He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom i trust". Psalm 91: 1 and 2
Well, a respected photographer and printer was giving a talk at our club some years back when someone mentioned an enhancement that he had used a beautiful large print he was showing. He immediately just RIPPED IT UP and layed it aside. His advice to us was that if the enhancement is visible to the viewer then you've crossed the line so that the enhancements have actually become distractions. You want to figure out what your subject is and promote it (only), removing all distracting elements from the picture, (like you did on Star Flower by darkening the border). Just my two cents, and I really respect you for "pushing the edge" and trying things like this. Go for it, Andrew!
The "enhancement" was part of the original photo that I did not clean up. What you see in the sky is from the lens. Thank you for the critique. I will clean up the image.
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for clearing up the source of that arch in the sky on your bridge shot. I appologize for assuming that was the enhancement that you were referencing in your comment. I guess I would still soften the transition or take it out, since it's not clear what caused it. Happy shooting! Alan
