My imagination is telling me there's a tropical resort on the other side of the hill with an empty beach chair under a palm tree and a tropical drink in the cup holder.
G'day Andrew,
I like this mate but I can see why it's garnered so few votes in the vb. Nothing really wrong with the photo, it's simply not going to work as a desktop image and lots of the people who vote only care about that quality and vote accordingly. I like the scenery, compositionally it would be better if the road was at an angle that cut further into the centre of the photo a bit, it's just a bit to "straight into" the image to be ideal. I love the snow falling and I love what you were thinking, as revealed in your title.
Mikel.
Interesting enough photo, but I think it lacks a focul point (I jump from the road, to the bush on the right, to the mountain). focusing more on one of these things might have engaged a viewer more. Still it's nice scenery, thanks for sharing.
I don't know exactly where it'll take me. But I do know it's going to be cold, there'll be icycles hanging off the edge of the roof, and hopefully there is a nice warm pot belly stove in there. Photographically, there are certainly more qualified people to help you out here than I.
Ok, from a purely photographic standpoint, my first question would have to be, "where do you want me to look?" There's a lot happening there and there seems to be no real focal point. Other than that I think the scenery is awesome!
When I look at this my eye starts at the left and goes out to the end of the road where it falls into the valley then up the pine on the right and then around the mountain that looks like a clam. This image was stitched together from 6 total images so I expected the response as most panarama images are busy.
I like this image because it looks like it was once a battle ground. Now some life is growing back from the devastation. The road could be a well used trading route that the battle was originally fought. Maybe there are pearls in that clam mountain...
