Apop. Photofiltre. "Numerous legends and tales surround the opal, which can be traced back in its origins to a time long before our memory, to the ancient dream time of the Australian aborigines. It is reported in their legends that the creator came down to Earth on a rainbow, in order to bring the message of peace to all the humans. And at the very spot, where his foot touched the ground, the stones became alive and started sparkling in all the colours of the rainbow. That was the birth of the Opals". I just started using Apop, so your comments are much appreciated. Hope you all enjoy =) Lori

This one is hot and vibrant! Great color! Opal is the October birthstone and they are very vibrant too. Thank you for the story as well.

Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel. -Josemaria Escriva

A beautiful legend to match your wonderful render. Can't tell you're new to Apo. Well done.

Great job on this Lori, this is very good and if you try your 'editor' which is your triangles and your mutation (nine dots) you'll find you can really come up with different flames.

Thanks for that history of the opals origin, Lori. This is a gorgeous fractal! It reminds me of a colorful, exotic bird fluffing it's feathers and prancing about. Really delightful!

Opals are great.. i would love to find one when i go to the outback next week = ) although thats a remote chance at best. Still this is a beautiful image here.. the swirls and colours are great. From just a quick look it seems you really know your way around these fractal programs.

For an early effort, Lori, this is very nice. It is one I have recently downloaded, from your most excellent gallery, for my cousin to experiment with in educating her toddler, who was born with the double-whammy of autism and down syndrome. My cousin tells me her daughter responds well to detailed images with lots of bright colors, a common response from children suffering from autism, and that certainly describes this piece. The idea is to combine very simple life lessons with your images (and others) to reinforce the lessons. When there is a result of the experiment you'll be the first to know, and I hope that knowing that your work may be able to help a child in need like this is rewarding for you. Besides... I really like this one, too, and your titling and concept of an opal is a perfect fit. My cousin and I thank you, whatever the outcome.
