A little history, and special thanks to Nikoneer for his knowledge of the Samurai: Shudō, the tradition of love bonds between a seasoned and a novice samurai was held to be "the flower of the samurai spirit" and formed the real basis of the samurai aesthetic. According to contemporary accounts, the choice between his lover and his master could become a philosophical problem for samurai.

Thank you for the credit Lori, but my assistance was only in terms of it reminding me of a samurai. Shudo is something I did not know and is testament to your excellent researching skills making a great match for your excellent fractal creations. To an Occidental, the Samurai seemed a contradiction in terms of his skills at warfare and at the gentler arts, like painting and poetry, skills that were esteemed by the Japanese for hundreds of years and still are today. That contradiction comes to the fore here between those hard-edged metallic bronze shapes and the floral patterning. The delicate texture on the bronze strengthens my sense of metal. Soft and hard, bright and dull, flowing and rigid — there are many elements here that normally fight one another but coexist beautifully in your piece, with the delicate red frame bonding the entire image. Another favorite, thank you.

A gorgeous spiral, Lori. I'm enjoying the autumn-like colors & it does have an Oriental feel to it. I could see this as a painted desihn on a vase or another piece of ceramic / glassware. I love the gentle flow too. Excellent work. Thanks for the info too.

Another winner from Lori. There's so much going on in all your images that it's difficult to point to one thing. If it's yours, it's faved.

wow. The title brings the whole work into focus. Without it, it is not perfect. Also, the texture you added to the yellowish areas works very well here! Makes me wonder how texturing might work in one image and not in another.
