Native American; Cheyenne, meaning "rippling water". This one kinda reminded me of my image Yamka , which Nikoneer tells me, is still one of his very favorites from my gallery. So, this new one is for you, Nik! =D

I am sure Nikoneer will love this rich mixture of colours. The textures are wonderful. Looks like a combination of knitting and needle work. Well done!

Wow! Stunning design work and a fabulous creation, Lori. I see a lovely harvest scene with golden sheaths of wheat. Or a decorative bowl sitting on a wonderfully designed tablecloth. Very nicely done.

Wow, Lori, you nailed this one right on the noggin. The split mandala in the center is very typical of Native designs, much like the Korean yin and yang symbol, illustrating the dualities of male and female, the real world and the spirit world, and the four elements of this world. The circle you've placed it in is also very typical in that they believe everything lives and travels in a circle, mother earth. The waving shape around the mandala, to me, easily represents the most common of paleoIndian methods of carrying items, like food and such, the burden basket, crafted of woven reeds. And the repetitive shapes projecting out along the outer rim of the basket look very much like feathers, a common and symbolic image of Native Americans. The shapes, designs, earth tones spiked by blues and greens, that you have chosen, make for an exceptional work of art, Lori. A truly spectacular piece. Thank you for sharing it and for dedicating it for me.

Definitely speaks to me! Alive and vibrant colors but just enough, the design still is the foundation that allows the viewer to lose themselves in wonder. Thank you for sharing your creative mind. Saved.
