Oh boy, I don't know about this, but it's my first render in Vue 6. And, I have quickly discovered that it's much more difficult to come up with titles for landscapes than it is for fractals..lol Comments and critiques welcome. I would also love to hear from those familiar with the program for any tips and/or suggestions. Thanks for looking, my friends :) Lori

Indeed, is there anything you haven't tried your deft hand at? An interesting scene you've created with this program, Lori. The shoreline could perhaps be more irregular, if you're going for a more realistic look. I look forward to your future endeavors with this program.

Your first render? Boy are you off to a great start...almost thought it was a photo...the only giveaway is the shoreline which may need some smoothing and irregularity to make it more realistic but I'm certain it won't be long before you have that mastered...great job, Lori.

For a first render this is good, and it is nice to see others coming into the CGI fold.

The image is a little spoilt by the water. I am not familiar with VUE 6, I use VUE 8, so I am not sure what I say is relevant. The water is far too blue. Try increasing the transparency and perhaps adding a little sub surface scattering. You may also try adding a little foam at the edges, or using a water that has that already. These should make the water a little more realistic. You can also play with the bump height to increase of reduce the waves.

I would also increase the ambient light content, or perhaps add in some extra lights to reduce the depth of the shadows on the trees. Tree bark is especially difficult to get right and I often use several lights around a tree to make the bark look realistic. Play with the power of the lights until you get the right effect. Make sure you set the lights and sun to have about 2 degrees of blur to make the shadows realistic.

Hope this helps.

For a first image you have shown you have the touch. Nice work and look forward to seeing more of these.

I tried my hand at Vue 6 and could never seem to get it right. I know you, you are a goddess of the fractals and you are about to be one in these renderings. I really enjoyed this picture and hope to see many more.

I like the idea and it's certainly captivating. Perhaps the shoreline is a little tooooooo straight, and like the magician with a dove fluttering under his cap, you reveal the computer world rather than a natural likeness. But hey, what do I know about how you handle these programmes. They're still awesome to behold.

I'm not familiar with the program, but if this is your first render in it, I'd say you have something here. Great work!!!
