I'd been looking for a really cool picture of Evening Primroses, and now have found one! Thank you.
They are the most interesting flower I ever saw. You have to get out in the gloaming to see them open. Every evening at 8:45 in early summer, varying to 8:30 in late summer we go to our neighbor's yard, and these yellow beauties first quiver, then pop, then unfurl themselves before your eyes. Within 10 minutes, some 12 blossoms may appear. One of the doggondest things I ever saw!
Evening primrose like to spread themselves around and they are easy to transplant which is good because they are so very classic and pretty. This shot really plays them up well against the bright pink phlox.
