As the sun was setting, a couple was walking on the beach. I was standing in the water and the waves kept moving me around. I at least got a photo.

That is some pop of color in the sky, and looks like it was a bit on the choppy side to be standing in. :) tigs=^..^=

Ted, you didn't only choose a difficult spot to photograph this couple, but the backlighting of the setting sun made it almost impossible to capture this couple well exposed. In such conditions it's impossible to avoid some chromtatic abberation too.
Perhaps your intention wasn't to prevent this all, because your aim might only have been to provide us with a moody sunset photograph. If so, then you've done a great job.
