I'm not sure what type of cat this is so I'll just call it a beautiful one - EDIT - after doing some research I've found that this is a Serval cat (Leptailurus serval) found South of the Sahara in Africa especially in grass- and bush-covered country near water. The serval is a swift, agile cat that climbs and leaps very well. It is a nocturnal hunter that preys on birds and small mammals like rodents and rabbits. The serval has slender a body with a long neck, small head, and large, cupped ears. The adult cat is about 32 to 40 inches long and usually weighs about 33 pounds. Its fur is typically yellowish to reddish brown with blacks spots and stripes.

Wow! I love this with the dappled fur and lighting - it goes together perfectly. How big was this cat? Looks almost like a cross between a tiger and a leapard. Would that make it a tigard?

That is an Ocelot cat. Felis Leopardus pardalis

-Other common names of Ocelot include "painted leopard" and "tigrillo." The fur may be anywhere between cream and reddish grey marked with open-centered dark spots that run in lines across its body like links in a chain. The dappled camouflage of the fur allows it to blend in with its surroundings.

Very nice shot!
