A Black Swallowtail I came across. He was very jumpy so this image was taken with a 70 - 300 lens at full zoom. That affected the DOF a bit but it still works - I hope -

Isn't it funny how the word 'politics' is made up of the words 'poli' meaning 'many' in Latin, and 'tics' as in 'bloodsucking creatures’?
oh yeah, it works for me! :-) nice to see you chap :-) lovely rich colours here on the butterfly, and the background looks good too, i like the splash of colour from the flower also.

Fanciful flapper and I like the DOF!! Perhaps a little crop 'n' chop to loss a little on the left so it doesn't distract from the flier. Nice colours throughout!!

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??
