Wow! That is an amazing sunrise. I love the wisps of clouds billowing over the rocks. The monochrome foreground is a superb contrast to the colours in the background. I'd be happy to wake up at 2am and see something like that!

This is beautiful! Well worth the early wake-up call, I'd say. I love the darkness of the mountains in the foreground, when contrasted with the fluffy (couldn't think of a better word to describe them) clouds, and the lemon yellow sky!

This is quite an amazing shot. I too made my way up the summet of Haleakala, but it was in the afternoon, closing on sunset. A lot of people kept telling us that watching the sunrise was the thing to do, but none of us wanted to get up that early. You are clearly more "gung ho" than I :-) Check out my Maui Summet and tell me what you think. After seeing your, I wish we would have made it up there for sunrise.
