Yes, it is nicely done. Good range of tones against the black. You might try it with a crop of about only half the black on the right side. It should tend to force total concentration on the subject, increasing impact.

Very dramatic looking flowers! I'm not too fond of B+W but it works with this. Lovely shot!

Wonderful composition, got this in VB. Unfortunatly the edges came out very sharp/were oversharpened wich is not a bad thing in itself but it brought out a lot of jagged edges and hard colors on something you would expect to be soft. great shot otherwise.

The easyest way to get a critique out of someone is to think about what they didn't tell you.
B&W seems to emphasizes the softness of the petals, but mutes the warmth and fragrance character. Prisoner roses... Neat.
