This little guy must have been handled too roughly and lost his tail. I'm not sure if their tails really grow back or not. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could do that? I love his color on the rocks and hope you will too. I understand if you are a bit squeamish when it comes to lizards, but this one is someone's pet and is loved and cared for quite well.

Poor little guy ... I've heard that tails / limbs on lizards & other amphibians can grow back or regenerate. I like the color contrast between the lizard & rocks. Wonderful capture, Tina.

The little fellow looks very conspicuous on those dark pebbles. I think his tail will grow again. Nice shot Tina.

He looks weird without his tail, I too have heard the grow back, I hope so! even though he does not seem to bothered by it being gone. Good take Tina, I like how he contrasts against the rocks.

This is very cool Tina! I'm happy you captured something like this! The other day my moms boyfriend found the coolest turtle and I forgot to charge my camera batteries! That will never happen again haha! Nice work!

I'm not sure whether they grow back or not, Tina. Sounds like a Tall Tale to me.
Neat shot with the textures.

Totally cool contrasts here. Good presentation of that tail-less lizard. I do not think it would be great to grow a tail like these lizards do. Be hard to fit in the trousers.

Lovely sheen and shine on the lizard and the stones Tina, and great colour too.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

This beauty seems more to be a Skink.

[ Skinks are lizards belonging to the family Scincidae. Together with several other lizard families, including Lacertidae (the "true" or wall lizards), they comprise the superfamily or infraorder Scincomorpha. With about 1200 described species, the Scincidae are the second most diverse family of lizards, exceeded only by the Gekkonidae (geckos).]

Skinks are becoming hard to find due to the exploitation and deforestation :(
