Today I went to a shopping mall where they had a wonderful show of Dahlia's on display.

I shot this in the manual mode with the use of flash, and hand held with the Canon ef 70-300 IS USM lens.

There are over 500 varieties of these beauties. They can be planted in spring, and will bloom all summer into fall. I was told that you can even leave them in the ground when it's colder, with a light snow cover. They do need to be dug up, and stored away for the winter months.

With all their beauty these flowers have no scent.

I have an update from Susanne (Sefa) on her sister who is in the hospital. She seems to be responding to treatment and Susanne was going to take her laptop and share this dedication with her, I was so pleased she was going to show her sister, and hopefully it brightened up her day.

These have become my favorite flowers.

Thank you in advance for your comments, I do appreciate them.

I really like the lighting on this one, Sandi. It has an intense and invigorating appeal and an asian flair. Very lovely indeed.
