Something a bit different from me. I would like to know what you think yay or nay?

This was taken with the canon 70-300 IS USM lens. I don't think I would want to get in real close with the wide angle for a shot. Lol!

I'm really excited to tell you that I have made another lens purchase, but of course my hopes of bringing it home with me, were crashed and I'm waiting on delivery a bit later in the week.

I have enjoyed Gregg's (eggray) bird captures for such a long time, and decided to purchase the same lens - the canon 70mm-200mm F/4 L series lens. I just hope I can do it justice after seeing his excellent shots. I want to try it out on flowers as well birds, but the birds around here are not so willing to poise. :)

Thank you in advance for your comments, and I'm curious what your thoughts are?

I had posted another flower image, but even after having it on my desktop, I did not notice the loss of quality with the big chop crop I did till after posting it. I'm sorry to have wasted the mods time.

I like this, but there is one thing I would have done, and that is clone out that pink line going from the upper right corner of the color section. Do you see it? I like the color on black and white though. Pretty nice.

Sandi, I take it you got your site working now? Hooray. I knew you would. What was the problem. Girl, you will love that 70-200 f/4 lens. It does such fine work yet is so light and easy to carry around. Love the bee.

I must be a creature of habit because I like the color part but could do without the other. Congrats on your lens. You have invested more in Canon and I recently sold mine.
I don't know why me and Moe didn't get along but we were incompatible.

Love the shot, but the post work is slightly confusing to 'my' eye!

Would love to see this without the 'box'!

The colour and B/W combination looks nice Sandi. The focus on the bee is very sharp but the centre of the flower is not so sharp. I suppose that you wanted it that way. Nice result.

Haven't decided but tend to agree about the box around the color part - been playing with this technique myself and find that I like only on very certain things.

I too, really like your creative edge on this, Sandi! However, I'd like to make a suggestion if I may... I think I'd like the inner box non-centered, both vertically and horizontally. Including the left side petals would do just that :) As always, a superbly focused closeup with fantastic details and colours! I especially love the highlights on the bee! And, congrats on the new lens!! :)
