This shot I thought really showed a tender moment between the founder of EFRC (Joe) and one of many tigers that he has saved over the last 21 years.

It all started with a couple of tigers, and now has grown to point that he has acquired over a 100 acres and has made this a haven for big cats of all kinds.

Thank you for your comments, and I hope you will enjoy this series.

As has been said why he put his hands on the fence especially the ones poking through, I'm not sure why, But some of the big cats have been raised by them from birth. I have another story for you along those lines a bit later, but I agree that they are always wild.

Even with the fence, this is so well focused with amazing detail on the Tiger and Joe. You said it well, "a tender moment"

Excellent composition on this, Sandi. And of course, the exposure is perfect.

I guess we know where you were at 2:50 p.m. Tigz. Clarity is so good and the fence reminds of of the barrier that needs to separate us from their wild side.

You really don't realize how big these cats are until you see a human hand in front of its face! Wow, so big and so excellent Sandi! I'm enjoying the stories along with the shots.

This is a picture I can't appreciate... his hands should not be on the fence... he even has some fingers poking through to the other side... but, Sandi, it definitely was good camera work!

I am a firm believer that animals know who has saved and cared for them. Even wild ones like this tiger. A great capture of a tender moment.

It doesn't matter whether he raised the tiger from the time it was born, Sandi. Wild animals will always be wild. You know what happened to Roy of "Siegfried and Roy" in Las Vegas. Lovely shot of the tiger.

Wonderful capture of communication between beast and man.
It is a very beautiful tiger and you have wonderful colours in this image.

I don't think I would be brave enough to put my hands on the fence. Great shot, Sandi.

I'd hazard that he puts his hands there for the cats to become familiar with his scent. Those cats surely have to be respected because as you said they are indeed wild. Showing the owner in the shot too provides great human interest to the view.

Every time I come by and take another look at this picture, Sandi, I am drawn back to your earlier post and the story of the arm.

I do not see danger in his or the tiger's eyes.

If you study the cat's eyes, there is no anger in them. The yes of a cat can be very expressive.

This is a great shot for highlighting the sheer SIZE of the big cats. It has a strong touch of pathos as well.
