One of several lions at the cat camp, EFRC.
They told us of some rescue centers, that actually breed the big cats, as they feel that the little ones helps bring attention and revenue to their centers, the EFRC is against this, they just want to give the big cats that need a safe home the care that is needed. It really is not fair to breed them to keep them in captivity, for their own gain.

I agree with you about rescue centres not breeding common cats in captivity, but in zoos it's often a different story. At Bristol zoo we have very rare Asiatic Lions which have successfully bred recently.

The worst thing that can happen to a wild animal is to get captured in the healthy condition for the purpose of being kept, bred and amuse the people.
It would be different to rescue a disabled wild animal which has no chances of survival in the wild, I think.
