My first sunrise capture of the year, and how cool that it was taken on Memorial Day.

I put the cheapo canon 18-55 IS lens to use for these, I was curious how it would do, and I think it was a heck of a deal for the money compared to those other expensive lens, build quality is not as good, but all in all I don't think it did a bad job on this capture.

I did crop this image for composition, and want to thank you for your comments, and any advice.

What makes a good photograph is not the price of the lens Sandi and you know that. You (not your lens)Have done a very good job here capturing this lovely colourful and glorious sunset. A fitting memorial for the ones who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Beautiful sunset photo, Sandi. The scene is wonderful with the line of clouds which look like coming from the sun. And their reflections are great on the smooth water surface. But I Can't say this El Cheepo Canon lens is near good. It can't be compared to Nikkor 18-55. This Canon's lens looks like a plastic toy.
