I noticed the cloudy sky, and decided to take a drive to the Tri-Lakes Game preserve, which is not too far from where I live.
I used the canon t3i with the canon 18-55 IS lens.
It was a beautiful day here, and I hope it was for you too.Thank you for your comments.

Interesting shot of this lake. I'm guessing the algae and grasses have taken over for the summer and they sure have given a nice variety of colors to the water. The large brown spot in the center is a great shade and even with the growth you've gotten some good reflections. Nice sky also - keep em' coming -

I know what you mean by lots of clouds motivating us photographers Tigz. Your drive was worthwhile. I didn't have the same luck on my drive.

My first impression is very positive, Sandi. I'm disturbed somewhat by the brown trees on the right. Nothing wrong with your shot, but I hope there's not another Dutch Elm Disease out there, because those trees look dead.
In a perfect world, the water would be blue. Is that some sort of swamp area? Doesn't look like anything I'd want to swim in.
The sky is deadly good stuff. What I wouldn't do for some cloudy skies around here. I hit the hills tonight with Ollie for some sunset action. It was really windy and cold up there. Not a cloud in the sky. The sunset didn't inspire me although some of the distant lands looked pretty neat in that hue. One thing about being in those hills...I'll bet you can see for 65 miles.
I like the equal areas of water, land and sky. And you have a nifty habit of leaving just a few shrub tops in the foreground to accentuate the depth. All and all, I say this was a excellent Tigsworthy effort.

What's the difference between a duck?
We have much of the same scenery around here as you do in this photo.I find these places have such a tranquel beauty and you captured it so well here.That sky is an added bonus. Fav !
