I have not been able to get many bird shots lately, but managed this one this morning.
The canon T3i was used with the canon 70-200mm f/4L lens, and kenko 1.4X converter.
Thank you for the comments, I do appreciate them, and I'm always open for suggestions.

Nice focus on the cardinal Sandi. I think (just my opinion) a lighter coloured (like grey) frame would have been better here.

I haven't been able to get many bird photo's of late either ... a few sparrows & finches at my feeder & that's about it. A beautiful capture of this female Cardinal & the detail is magnificent. Very well done, Sandi.

Here's a suggestion, Sandi. Give you ol' buddy Roger your photography equipment. I have a bottom of the line Canon camera and two lenses. The used telephoto lens I bought died yesterday at the beach.
Seriously, I'm a huge fan of your work (even those damn flowers), Tigs. So my suggestion is to keep posting your flawless images for us to enjoy. However, if you ever have a garage sale on used camera equipment, you have my email address. As for this posting, it doesn't seem as sharp as most of your stuff. Reminds me of the shots I get of the deer when I'm shooting through double paned glass windows that haven't been washed in a decade. Not that bad, of course, but not as close to perfect as your other shots. Maybe an 8.5 rather than a 9.3. That sorta thing.

She is looking pretty in the Summer light! I always like seeing some birds that we dont see around these parts. The only suggestion I would have is to take more pictures of birds! Your so good at it;)
