Paid a visit to the Calendar garden early this morning to beat the heat. My camera settings were not set right for this unexpected shot, tried to use topaz lens effects in my editing, playing in the topaz sandbox. Used the 40D, with the 70-300 IS USM lens

I have one more story to tell you of the lovely couple from New Zealand: I went past that spot today, and saw their motor home was still there, so decided to pull in, and check in on them. It has been several days now of over 100 degree temps with the same today. He was so pleased that I took the time to check in on them. He introduced himself, and his wife, Ron & Joy. They have been in the states for about 6 weeks and will be here exploring for 6 months total. He told me that the motor home was now working okay, poor (battery connection) but they enjoyed the spot so much they decided to just stay again last night, and do some relaxing, and reading for a couple of hours this morning. I did suggest another place for them to visit if they had the time, The Chain of Lakes state park, has many lakes, a beach, and camping, and areas for RV's and motor homes, they did seem interested. Ron told me that a couple that lives across the river from where they were broke down, feed the swans bread every evening, and the swans will swim right over to the shore about the same time knowing they will get fed, that explains why they do not seem to bothered by me when I take pics. He said they invited him, and his wife Joy over last night for some wine, and to visit.

He also said they had been to the Ozarks, where a sweet couple they met invited them over to help them celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their family. It is so nice to see that they are making some memories from their visit, and I shook hands with both of them, and wished them well during their USA adventure. Sorry this was so lengthy, but I really wanted to share the rest of the story with you. Thank you for commenting my friends, and advice is always welcome. Tigs♥ =^..^=

What an unusual face on the critter and you captured those translucent wings perfectly.

Thank you for sharing the rest of the story with us, Sandi.
To me, it's alway great when people show interest in a postive way to other people, in order to see whether one can be helpful or not.

Thanks too for a wonderful image. The way that it's staring to me, do me believe it knows me, lol.

Wonderful post! Very well done!!

Regards, Cornelius.

Don't know that I've seen a green one before, but that was fortuitous. You caught him before he skitted away.

It's good that foreigners find that some Americans are really fine people. But there are good people everywhere and it was very kind of you to check up on them. I wouldn't mind spending 6 months touring around NZ myself. I could visit LynEve.

Nice shot of "Mr. Green" Sandi. I can see even the smile on his face.

Interesting anecdote about your meeting the couple from New Zealand. I have been there a few times and have found that people there are a friendly lot.

I think this is a great shot and post work. He's got the cutest face and what great colors. I enjoyed the rest of the story. I am sure they appreciate you being concerned for them and extending a friendly helpful hand. I know I would being in that position in the US or a Foreign country as they are. You did good !

Sandi - What a great narrative! This dragon fly is staring right at you, or so it would seem. To me, it has a comical face - fun to look at. Thad
