A lovely pic...I didn't realise the painted lady was in America..It comes here from Africa every year..Some years thousands appear together.They all die off as they can't survive the winter...R.

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.
Beautiful close up capture and stunning detail and love the extra colours in this photo with the greens and pink flower they make a great marriage with the beautiful looking butterfly .We have a butterfly like this in the UK it called a Tortoiseshell and as almost the same colours but no white spots just small white bars next to black and orange .
