I have been holding onto this one, that bud behind the butterfly bothered me, I thought it was distracting, but now it doesn't. :)
Too bad we can't get them to position themselves perfectly for us huh. Lol!

You could have cloned out the bud but it would have been difficult with that background - I think it's a great shot as is!

I'm glad you posted it Sandi. I always like to see those butterflies and it is a nice composition. Those butterflies just don't know how to pose do they? Else we would tell them to tilt your little head and open your wings just a little more and maybe move back just a tad so that bud isn't in my way. LOL! We wish.

Getting cooperation from any insect is a rare thing. And getting that cooperation along with a perfect background is even rarer. Butterflies are really tough for me too and it's a special treat when one lets me get close. So kudos here for your sneaking abilities, just keep at it and the good backgrounds will happen.
It's for shots like this that I want a longer macro lens and the Canon 180mm is next on my must-have list. The extended reach of that lens should result in more opportunities to get a shot or two, instead of none.
By the way, you're just up the road from where my maternal grandfather was born, in Lebanon, Indiana. His future wife, my grandmother, was also born in Indiana, but I don't know the town. And my best friend for many years was from Ft. Wayne. It's a small world Tigs.
