During my overnight stay at EFRC (cat camp) we met a new feline - L.T.- short for Long Tail. He was a stray that found a good place to call home. He is a nice addition to the overnight stay. He would go in, and out, but seemed to know when it was bedtime, and made himself comfy for the night. When the lights went out he made himself a spot on the bed. :)
I tried to bring out a little more detail by using a brush in Perfect Effects 4.

It looks like L.T. is dreaming of one day becoming a big cat, with the lamp shade above. Nice shadow patterns from the shade on the wall. Fantastico!

Sorry you couldn't lighten up LT a little more. Nevertheless that's a Great Shot of that Lamp which I like very much. Thanks for sharing.

Sandi, the difference in contrast between the intense lamplight and the dark cat is too high to make a 'top notch' image.
Think however that given these conditions that you have provided us with a reasonable image, making very clear you intentions.
A possible solution could have been the use of a, so called, 'fill-in flash' (if you had flash gear available at that time). I don't know however what would have been the reaction of the cat.

Wow this is a great looking photo and the light in this shot is outstanding,plus great detail and lovely colours too.Plus what a lovely set of objects to have this cat with especially that lamp.Also I do like the shadows reflecting across the wall too.

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.
This would be the right lampshade for you, for sure Sandi. Very nice capture although L.T. (like E.T. in the movie) is not so clearly visible. Do you think all guests would like L.T. coming in and staying overnight or did he know instinctively that you are a C.L. (Cat Lover) :)

LT looks quite at home. I like the darkness surrounding him - it suggests he is a land of dreams - maybe dreaming about the big cats on the lamp.
The reflections on the wall behind add extra interest - I think the whole thing works well and is very attractive.
