Here at my moms housing addition we have a small group of deer, that have been hanging around. There is a river and woods so they have that for cover. This harsh winter has brought them out, and several times I have seen them across the street munching on the trees, and bushes at this house, and I have seen their footprints in the snow here at mom's too.

I spotted them this day towards evening, and very slowly I opened the side door, and had the canon set on action, and got some shots of this one. I did not even scare her, so I was glad of that.

This was kind of dark to start with but I brightened it up, and did a few adjustments, but kept it simple.

I was pleased to see that I did manage to get a few decent shots of them.

I will be commenting on the images that are in waiting, and will catch up on the rest tonight, today I will be away trying to get some pictures for you,my friend Mary is sitting with my mom.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have had so many deer run in front of me while I was driving this winter, it's a wonder I haven't hit at least one! This one is a beauty, Sandi. Great looking shot.

Sandi, I have read your narrative with very much interest because we're dealing with the same 'problem' (please notice the quotes) when we have or had a severe winter. Then they enter the private gardens as well in order to find some food.

Thanks for this very fine accompanying image. Take care and have a good trip!

Regards, Cornelius.

They sure have had a tough winter here. With such deep snow, it's easy to break a leg if startled. She doesn't seem too concerned, Sandi. Good one.

A real good capture Sandi. I'm glad those animals have those great coats to keep warm because it really looks cold there. Looks like this deer was pretty close for you have some mighty fine detail in your image. You did good on your edit.

Excellent Sandi - she doesn't seem frightened at all - It's been a terrible winter for the waterfowl around Lake Michigan- I've read thousands have died due to starvation. I'm glad the deer seems relatively healthy.
