It's a great presentation Sandi. Good enough for a get well greeting card! The texture reminds me of those cards you tilt left and right, and the image changes.
I find that if there are too many twigs etc...stick another background behind it PS layers...then using the 'eraser' tool' .. gently rub out the offending twigs!...Much easier than cloning!
Out right stunning piece of art work and beautiful layout and amazing colours plus superb background to this picture as well. That is one proud looking bird and this world look great hanging on my wall.
Boris-like tint of belly, let us call the bird "Boris-bellied crimson-headed woodpecker" for short ! :) Cute face and lovely colours - proud birdie. SAM & SAAB

A nice capture of the woodpecker and great manipulation work with the smoky background. The poor thing must have been pecking so hard that he caught the tree on fire.
This is a truly remarkable and beautiful presentation Sandi!!! The bird is of course wonderful to behold and your BG and layering really sets him off. A delightful and creative image!!!!
Good cloning work SAS and lovely texture chosen for this image...again I am reminded of a painting on glass or pottery or perhaps one of those nice painted marble wall placques...in fact I have one that used to belong to my Grandmother...great work here.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
