I recently purchased a new lens, the canon 40mm f/2.8 STM lens (pancake lens).
I was pleased with the price, and now I'm in the trying it out mode, it was attached to the canon 40D.
This lake is located in town on the main road, they have a beach,picnic area, and playground for everyone to enjoy.
I appreciate the views, and your comments.

and a beaut it is..lovely blues & greens! i see why they call it center lake, from your shot it seems your right smack dab in the center..well on dry land..but ya know what mean..then again, do i? ☺ the 40mm seems to have done you well my friend. so where are the pancakes at you mentioned..back at the pinic area?

I thought maybe this lake had dried up, you hadn't posted one from there in a while.

Spot on composition and lovely blues in this photo and the lake is stunning and so calm looking and still .tThe over all colours or just right and the light and reflection over the lake are superb Sandi .It would be great to eon one of them house just imagine waking up in the morning to view like that and saying just going to the bottom of the garden to do a spot of fishing wow.

I don't know anything about the lens but if this is any indication you'll have a lot of fun with it...a lovely serene capture, the water smooth as silk...looking forward to more of your 'trying it out mode'.

If you stare at an orange juice container because it says, "CONCENTRATE"...you might be a redneck.
No idea about the lens, or tilt here for that matter - and I have been checking it from all angles and distances! Great colours, SAS and I am certain that you will use all the advantages offered by them lenses.:)

For a tiny lens it seems to take a remarkably good quality picture. You ought to be able to handhold this little baby in a variety of conditions considering the size and f2.8. Trying it out for some close ups of flowers and things should give you a good idea of whether you like it or just want to use it for moderately wide shots. Considering the cost of the lens I bet you're fairly happy with it. This is a nice picture Sandi.

I have read something about pancake lenses on a Dutch site (think therefore it's not useful to provide you with the link). They have both advantages and disadvantages.
Hope you'll will use only its advantages. Success with it. This posting is promising anyhow.
