A very nice tribute Sandi. I do remember that day. Not only the Twin Towers but also the Pentagon and the people that were killed in the four hijacked airplanes. There were acts of cowardice but also acts of great bravery even to the point of giving there lives to save others. The state of the world has changed dramatically since that day.

The world changed that day. Inevitably there has been and will continue to be much debate over the whole thing.

i know this flower! not many do! fitting you pick this one, as it has rather strange characteristics to it when it pops open. which is where it got its nickname. strange what many might do with the seeds as well. goes by many different names and we have four of the colors here. i think Datura being the most common of those names. its actually toxic or poisonous. still use wide spread as a poison over seas from what i have read in the past. dont want the cat or dog eating on them.

Wow, what a spectacular close up and tribute for that very sad day. I was in the downstairs working on my computer and my son call telling me to turn on the TV, I was terrified and watch as the 2nd plane flew into the South Tower. Right into my favs, it's Gorgeous girlfriend.

Every generation has that "day" they will never forget and will always remember what they were doing when it happened. For my parents, it was Pearl Harbour. For me, I have two, JFK's assassination and 9/11. I know exactly what was happening around me when both of these tragic events took place.
God bless all the victims in 9/11. May the event always be remembered and never forgotten.
