Took this one just at the first signs of the seasonal change. I had permission to go back in these woods. Now I know the unsavory bugs are out, so even though I would like to go back, I feel I better pass.

I wouldn't go anywhere near bugs that can tip over trees! lol. Great looking shot of your adventures by the river, Sandi.

The overall brown colour tones are what strikes me when I look at this. As for the bugs (ticks) - the best protection is to wear jeans and proper shoes (no sandals) Sandi. I always do.

I love the wood colours in this capture and the splashes of greenery here and there and the detail is lovely and sharp too.I also like the light and shadows in this capture as well. You should have got some macro shots of the bug ball lol.

I agree with Raj advice about the clothing - I never wear sandals and have several long sleeve t-shirts for this purpose in summer. This is a great shot of the start of the season though with wonderful intersecting lines.

Are there beavers active in that area? It resembles some of the woods near us where they are at work felling trees. Good shot.

It kind of makes me a bit sad when I'm out hiking and I see a majestic tree laying on it's side such as this. most of the time it's wild pigs rooting along the base of the tree that causing them to fall.

Its no fun to come out of there and find ticks or something else on you, so I think you are wise to stay away. Looks like there is a lot going on in there anyway. Good capture though.

Fantastic shot of the fallen tree and the force of nature that did that, excellent detail and colour tones. You should try using Deep Woods Off then you could go back and show us the difference between the 2

One of today's modern-day woods - an uprooted tree, a stump, a little green, and a lot of trees and bugs. It still makes a great shot with all the nature around Sandi.

If the bugs and critters are that mean to push over a tree you need to watch out. But you are a brave one Sandi. Good shooting.

I've never seasoned my bugs with savory either, they taste much better with some garlic. I work year round in the great outdoors and it's gonna take more than some pest species of insect to drive me away from enjoying the scenery.
A nice capture of the windfall trees, Sandi. Good lighting and colour tones in the photo.
