Some of you might remember that I have a friend who looks for Monarch eggs on the bottom of milkweed leaves. She takes them home where they are safe from predators, and takes care of them through their stages. She can tell when their about ready to come out and turn into a beautiful butterfly.

When they are released they are wet, and need to dry out, so this is a great time to take pictures of them, but have to be handled carefully. They like being placed on something warm, it helps them to dry out.

This cute little girl seemed to enjoy herself, even though the monarch was dripping on her.

Thanks so much for your comments, and I do have more to share.

Lovely narrative and an excellent portrait of the happy little worker. We have out share of Monarchs as they migrate through the county and love the eucalyptus trees, If she can get the chrysalis to become butterflies, she's doing us a real service.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

An unique photograph, Sandi. Not primary because of the monarch on her face, but mainly because the expression on her face.
A mixture of wonder and amazement versus a strange feeling.
S+F of course. Thanks, my friend!

The expression on her face is a joy to see Sandi and a perfect capture to go with a monarch release.

A full professional, highly paid photographer could not have taken a better image. You better hang onto that one. It might make you some money someday.
