One from my vacation in South Haven, Mi. We walked the Kal-Haven trail twice, and both times there was a very small area where the Monarchs were in abundance. I did not have the zoom lens, at the time, this was taken with the Nikon D500, Nikkor 24-70mm 2.8 lens, and this has been cropped.

I appreciate your comments, thank you!

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Lovely shot with all the shrubbery around the monarch.

Very good focus and detail Sandi. Without the big zoom lens, I bet you had to move the camera closer to the subject rather than catch them at a distance.

Another lovely Monarch capture, Sandi.
May I give you a constructive advice? If so, please try a somewhat lesser brightness to enhance the contrast. I downloaded this image and already did an attempt with good result.
I don't exclude however that the brightness settings of my monitor isn't fully correct. In this case, please forget it, my friend!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Good job with the bright background and not washing out the subject.
