Some you might remember that I have a friend that owns a substantial amount of land, and they plant alot of it in wildflowers.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting with them, and then a ride around the property on their mule (the 4 wheel kind). I saw a few Monarch's but they were never close enough, but I was thrilled to see this beautiful Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.

I lugged the D500 equipped with the 80-400mm VR lens, and was dealing with some breezy conditions at times.

Butterfly season is here, yay!

I'm lucky enough to have an open invitation to visit whenever, so maybe next time I will catch some Monarchs with the lens, there is lots of milkweed on their property.

Thanks for your comments.

You are lucky to have friends with property and a mule Tigz.
I suspect you had a great time searching for butterflies and anything else that caught your eye.
This photo alone was well worth the effort.
Excellent detail and POV.
