I love to hear the chirping sounds of the cicadas during the summer months Tigs - I still hear a few in the morning hours as they are beginning to decline!!!

I love cicadas, it means it's warm and summer. Excellent work, Sandi.

Sandi, cicadas aren't well known in my country because they stay very small here and because the larval stages aren't visible because they develop in spit-like foam nests.
That's why your macro is intriguing to me. An excellently photographed phenomenon!

The sound of the cicadas is somehow soothing. I have often searched for them when I heard them but never found one.

Great shot Tigz. A little bit of their sound goes a long way with me. I think your title is perfect.

I'm with Tick on this one - their noise can get quite annoying after a while and they are unpleasant to look at but I did not know they had a shell - this is a very interesting post.
