I took this one last year at my friends property. Steve plants wildflowers on the 40 acre property, and it's a photographers delight. Steve lost his wife Ruby at the end of 2020 due to covid, and the cancer she had been dealing with for 5 years.

My friends Shelly, Carolyn, and I donated a tree to be planted on their property in her memory. She was a sweet, caring, and fun lady, she was 81. I will, and do miss her greatly.

Thanks for your comments, and I have lots of pictures I have taken at their place, and will share some from time to time. If Steve invites me back, you can bet I will go back, she will be in my thoughts as I enjoy the wildflowers she so loved.

Thank you for your comments.

A beautiful shot of the monarch dedicated to Ruby's passing Tigs - I'm certain that Steve will invite you back to the gardens - so sorry that you lost a good friend - the tree serves as a nice tribute.

Sandi, in the first place I like to say that you've provided us with a splendid image, so S+F instantly! Thanks for that, 👍 !
In the second place, I like to say too that I have read your narrative with much interest.
A sad story. It would be easy to say that passing away is inevitable for every person. The reality is far more complicated however, because humans are more than flesh and blood. We have emotions and sense. From that perspective think it's great that you and your friends keep the fond memories of your dear friend Ruby alive. My dear late wife always said to me: "As long as someone isn't forgotten, he or she will live on."

Sandi I'm so sorry about Ruby - I've so enjoyed your shots from her gardens - she will be missed not only by you but those that appreciated her dedication to wildflowers. This is just perfect - S&F.

What a lovely photo.
Ruby and Steve's large wildflower garden must be very beautiful and full of memories. A fitting memorial to your loved friend

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Wonderful capture, I love butterflies and your skills have given us a beautiful view to enjoy. A very good idea to donate the tree in memory of Ruby, may your memory of her stay strong.
