Sandi, good night shots with a DSLR camera can in fact only be achieved when a tripod is used or with a to the DSLR attached lens which has a vibration reduction feature.
I suppose your cell phone camera doesn't have those capabilities. Therefore, the result achieved is remarkable to me.
