i like the shot, it just seems to be lacking an item of interest. the lake is odd, but not captivating

The shot is not bad, but I think you should use a better resolution. (1600 x 1200).
And for giving a bit of life to this "dead sea" I would have put a person or an animal somewhere in the picture.
If you happen to visit this lake again, give it another try.
