And now you succeeded Exceptional shooting Robert!..the clarity and detail is brilliant!....Another 'feather' in your cap eh!....(sorry about the 'pun')
Breathtaking, Robert! I can't get over the amount of detail you've captured in this stunning image. What sort of camera/lens did you use to achieve such clarity? And how did you do that black background? It makes the egret really jump out of the screen? Incredible work - well done!!!
Well mate you got one. This is absolutey awesome and may well be your best critter shot to date. Perfectly framed and as Kristof said the white balance is spot on. Exellent work and I'm faving this one.

What a great shot! I've never seen an Egret in flight, I'm glad you kept trying. I can't believe how much detail there is in this photo, you must be very satisfied to finally get what you were after. Thanks!
I'm awestruck with this capture. I can't imagine the euphoria and satisfaction you must have felt when you saw this on your PC. Your perseverance sure paid off "Big Time" Rob ... It really doesn't get much better in this bird lovers eyes. I salute you.
well i guess I'll have to chime in and heap my congratulations on as well. Great clarity in this and you did very well not to have gotten the white bird overexposed. (Last time I took a pic of a white swan, I completely overexposed it) The shadow on the wings help accentuate each feather. Great job on this.
viking_boy said you had a great shot. he sure is right. beautiful capture of a beautiful bird. i am going to post 'mirrors of egrets' tonight. i hope you will view it and give me feedback.
We have those birds all over the place down here. I shoot them all the time. You don't see me having posted very many pics of them, have you? They are too fast for me. For you to have captured this shot is a testamony to your skill with a camera not to mention your fast reflexes. Well done, my bird man!

Great capture! We have a large Egret that visits several times a year at the complex I'm in. You did a fantastic job catching this Egret in flight - fine action here. Good clearness and details. Those gorgeous white wings are awesome..and look at his neat feet. Thanks Robert, for being such a good photographer of wildlife :*>
Well my friend, this is drama and classy at it's best! A white Egret, in flight against a black background. You know that black and white is in this season, right? Whew, your persistence and patience paid off big time on this creature. Did you aim/focus your camera ahead of the bird or did you just track it with the lens until you took your shot? Everything you did came together to make quite an impact for this image. The detailing is quite impressive, the white balance very impressive, being able to see the talons of the Egret while in flight..well, I am duly impressed as well! :) This goes right to my favorites folder on my hard drive and now it is going to replace your other Egret image as my new desktop!! Thanks so much for taking the time and persevering so that you could share this with me. I love Egrets ;=)

Congratulations Robert, you finally hit the egret jackpot!
So, what do you do now ? Sell your camera and retire?
I hope not, there is plenty of other challenges for a photographer of your caliber!
Thanks for this incredible photo.

Hi Robert, just saw this one on 'featured images' and it leapt out at me - I just had to come and comment! I've seen masses of great bird images over the years [I'm a keen birder and subscribe to all the mags] but I have to say that this is got to be one of the best. An all white bird is a difficult subject at the best of times, but to capture the plumage detail so well - in flight!! I bow down to you. Just exceptional and you shoud be really proud of this one [and sell it to one of the birding mags!] Gone straight to my desktop.
Cheers,
Steve.
