Wow, Tristan!
I am wondering why this is over-looked!? I'm thinking people are seeing surface deep and not below it. SAD. Sad because this is awesome. Glad you found it. Even more happy you shared it. In a restaraunt last week, my 5 year old daughter needed me to take her to the restroom..and on the way, her eyes locked in on a very pretty teenaged girl. I asked her quietly, why was she staring...and she told me the girl is beautiful, like "Aquamarine" the mermaid { a movie I took her to}. I said: "Then tell her"....and she looked at me kind of nervous, but I nodded and said: trust me..you should tell her.
She stopped at the table { a party of 6}, and quietly told the girl she is pretty like Aquamarine, the mermaid...then shyly grabbed my hand and we kept walking to the restrooms. But behind us I could hear the girl saying Oh my God, how sweet! and her parents and whomever were oohing and ahhing over it.
Long story short: later as my family left, we passed them again...and the shyish teenage girl's eyes had a sparkle...and she waved at my Noelle and mouthed the words "thank you". I could go on and on about a similar story when I was 14 and felt like I was not pretty, not nice enough clothes, etc-etc, and one old lady passing by mumbled aloud to herself after we'd exchanged hello's "That child is so pretty"....
It was unexpected but powerful..{ I was so shy and never thought I was remotely cute}...and her words stay with me always. I believe people are too scared to be nice to each other. Sometimes too vain to notice beauty in others.
{ sorry about the psycho-babble, but insomnia does this to me} :)
Your work here....very well done. A keeper. I hope other people will see it and realize how important it is. :) Best wishes, Terri
Please forgive me: I want to thank everyone who views and comments my images, I try but it is hard to write individual thank you at times. Please know you are appreciated!
Quite an original image you got there. Needs time to fully appreciate it. Thankyou for sharing. Terri, that was just a little bit inspiring, thanks to you also.
