It was the day after a major fall storm about 7:30am when I shot this image of the tugboat and the harborhouse in the inner cove of Port Washington harbor Wisconsin. It was cold, grey and very windy along Lake Michigan. Port Washington is along the lake about 40 miles north of Milwaukee (where I was born). It's a charming little town with great whitefish, old fashioned street lamps and Queen Anne style homes. We always stop on our way up or back from Door County. All comments and critiques appreciated.

Hello Kathy!

Even so the bad weather, your photo became a beautiful natural painting. Great perspective and angle, love the composition!

Even though it was a cloudy day, your capture is very well done. It gives even more mood to your fine image.

Kathy - A well composed photo - tree above, dock below, tug to the right, house to the left, breakwater and open water center. Good work! Thad

I like the mood of the scene in your capture, Kathy. A nice view across the harbour and good composition of your shot.

Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick. Henri Cartier-Bresson

This is a very nice water scene, Kathy. I love the tug, and the harborhouse and the gloomy weather even looks good in this. I like the bare branches at the top of the frame too.

A great view of a breezy day Kathy. I like the overhanging branches and the frame makes it feel like looking through a window.

Now That's what I call weather, Kathy. Look at that flag!! You've really captured the mood of a nasty day on Lake Michigan. The branches in the upper foreground are a little distracting, but I get the shivers just looking at this scene. This is a well balanced composition with the structure on the left and the tug boat on the right.
